Advanced Painting Workshop in the South of France
June 7, 2018 through June 22, 2018
Instructor: Glen Moriwaki
Location: Caunes-Minervois, France (near Carcassone)
This year marks the 20th annual Advanced Painting Workshop In The South of France. As always, this summer’s session will take place in the ancient village of Caunes-Minervois, at the base of the Montagne Noir in the Languedoc. The workshop is for painters who seek one-to-one art instruction based on the individual’s goals. It is not a summer school class—it is a seminar. It is a chance for a small group of committed artists to come together to share ideas and perspectives, stimulation and mutual encouragement. My overall aim is to assist each artist in taking his or her work to the next level of development, no matter what degree of past experience. The place and its history, French food and wine, the quietude of the countryside, and the studio at Berges all help to create an environment that makes you want to stretch yourself a bit as an artist and to grow in whatever direction you choose.
14 days of individual painting instruction based on your workshop proposal
On-site and studio painting at Berges facility
Accommodations at Berges, gites, and house rentals in the village
Evening group critiques, slide-lectures, and discussions
Side-trips to regional restaurants and significant cultural sites
